Things to Consider when Purchasing a Printer or Multifunction Machine

Uses inkjet cartridges to offer high quality colour printing. Ideal for any office environment.

Laser Printer
Uses laser toner cartridges to offer high quality mono printing for producing high volume output. Ideal for the busy office. Colour laser printers offer superior quality colour printing but at a higher cost than colour inkjet printing.

Multifunction Machines
By combining common office machines into one unity, multifunction devices save you time, money and desk space without losing the functionality of separate units. Example combinations are Printer-Scanner-Copier or Printer-Scanner-Fax.

What does the Technology Mean?

PPM - Pages per minute
All figures quoted based on a standard business letter.

DPI - Dots per inch
The higher the DPI the better the print resolution quality.

KBPS - Kilobytes per second
For fax transmission… the higher the kbps the faster the fax transmission and resultant saving on call costs.

The exclusive Powershred solid steel cutting system accepts staples, paperclips and credit cards without risk of damage.

Parallel interface
for connecting your PC to your printer or MFC device via a cable.

USB (Universal serial bus) interface
for faster and easier connection to your PC, enabling your printer or MFC device to work faster. (Most recently manufactured PC’s will have both a USB and Parallel port. Older PC’s may have only a parallel port. Adapters are available that connect to your PC parallel port to provide you with multiple USB ports. Please see our Belkin Connectivity products for more details.)

When used with high quality paper, printers with a higher DPI will give excellent photograph reproduction.

Card Reader Slot
Some devices allow you to access your digital photography faster and more easily directly from your media or memory card (the card you use in your digital camera or camcorder to store your photographs).

Automatic Document Feeder – loads multiple pages of documents into the ADF to fax or copy. No need to stand around feeding one page at a time.
