Fans for the Office & Home

The right fan depends on the space and where you need the air. A desk fan cools one person; a pedestal or tower moves air across a whole room. Here's how to choose.

Desk Fans

Compact and quiet, desk fans sit on a workstation or bedside table for personal, close-range cooling. Ideal for a hot home office where you just need a breeze on you, not the whole room.

Tower Fans

Tall and slim, tower fans take up little floor space while circulating air across a room — the neat choice for living rooms, bedrooms and offices where floor space is tight. Most add oscillation and multiple speeds.

Pedestal & Floor Fans

For larger or shared spaces, a pedestal fan delivers the most air and adjusts for height and oscillation, directing a strong breeze exactly where it's needed. Floor and wall fans suit workshops, garages and busier commercial areas.

Choosing the Right Fan

Match the fan to the room size, look for multiple speed settings and oscillation for even airflow, and check the noise level if it's for a quiet office or bedroom. Need more help deciding? See our office fans buying guide.

Did you know?

Oscillation matters more than raw power for comfort — a moving fan spreads a gentle breeze across the room, while a fixed fan only cools whatever sits directly in front of it.

Questions & Answers

What type of fan is best for an office?

A desk fan suits personal cooling at a workstation, while a tower or pedestal fan is better for cooling a whole office. Look for quiet operation and multiple speeds for a work environment.

What's the difference between a tower and a pedestal fan?

Tower fans are slim and space-saving with a fixed height, ideal for tight spaces. Pedestal fans move more air and adjust for height, better for larger rooms and targeted airflow.

Do your fans oscillate?

Most tower and pedestal fans oscillate to spread airflow across a wider area. Check the individual product for oscillation and speed settings.

Which fan is quietest for a bedroom or office?

Tower and desk fans on lower speed settings are generally the quietest. Check the product details for noise level and low-speed or night modes.
