This is definitely a consumer product, and not a commercial/corporate product.
The locking mechanism works and is sufficiently robust to keep the drawers shut. One hard pull by a determined thief will break the locks instantly. The locks are insufficiently strong to work in a corporate/office/commercial environment.
- It turns out that the drawers are designed to carry weight only on their top-rails, i.e. for exclusive use by suspension folders.
The base of each drawer is insufficiently robust to store items on the drawer floor. So storing a laptop in the drawer might be pushing one's luck.
For a consumer product, it would have been reasonably foreseeable that a suspension file cabinet would typically be used for more than just suspension files.
This point should have been drawn out more obviously in the sales literature above.
